This wedding was full of “firsts” for me, and I’m so excited to have been a part of it. It was my first travel wedding (I drove all the way to the other side of our great state, Michigan, to be there!). It was my first 100% outdoor wedding and almost all of it was completely DIY!

The bride, Melissa, is a total DIY wedding whiz. From the flower girl dress to her own bouquets, to the table decorations; even the wedding cake…all were handmade by her. Did I mention she also prepared and catered most of the food, too? Incredible!

Their venue was entirely outdoors and it was truly a gorgeous setting. There’s nothing quite like the late summer breeze whistling through the trees while you photograph a beautiful reception. It was certainly a new experience for me, but one I’m so grateful to have had. Take a peek below at some of my favorite images from their stunning wedding! And like always, there’s an adorable GIF nestled in there somewhere. :)
